Pennsylvania Lottery payouts back on schedule after computer system upgrades

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Lottery says it is back on track with payouts after a computer upgrade in May caused delays.

Lottery spokesperson Ewa Swope said scheduling is back to normal.

She said the lottery had not updated its computer system in 16 years.

“We wanted to thank the players for their patience and kindness throughout the process,” Swope said. “We’re all caught up now.”

The lottery’s computer upgrade included vending equipment, improved technology and new features to enhance the lottery experience. A freeze has been placed on claims processing during the transition.
