In a late-night Instagram livestream, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended Joe Biden and criticized Democrats who anonymously attacked him.

“Over the last few weeks, there’s been a lot of Democrats giving anonymous quotes to the press,” AOC said in the video. “To me… that’s bullshit.”

“If you have an opinion, say it with your chest and in public.”

The Democratic congressman’s frustration comes as numerous anonymous Democratic sources in the news have called for Biden’s resignation.

“If this is your opinion and this is what you think is best for the country, then put your name to it.”

Pressure is mounting on President Biden to drop out of the race after last month’s disastrous debate performance. The president, who is recovering from COVID-19, has been crisscrossing the country to hold campaign rallies in swing states.

Despite his busy schedule, many Democrats remain concerned about his ability to defeat Trump in November. Polls continue to show Trump widening his lead over Biden, both nationally and in key swing states.

The most recent polls even show Trump overtaking Biden in states like Virginia and New Hampshire, once considered safe for Democrats.

Biden, however, appears determined as he continues to resist calls to withdraw.

And now that Republicans are rallying behind President Trump weeks before Election Day, fears of defeat are growing among Democrats.

Ocasio-Cortez warns of consequences of infighting over Biden

“To me, to some extent, it doesn’t matter what name is on (the ballot),” she said, referring to efforts to get Biden off the ballot. “We’re not losing.”

“I don’t know about you,” AOC continued, “but my community doesn’t have the option of losing… My people are the first to be deported. They’re the first to be put in Rikers. They’re the first to have their families killed by war.”

Biden’s campaign released a statement Friday morning echoing Ocasio-Cortez’s sentiments.

“It’s high time we stop fighting,” the campaign said. “The only person who can win when we fight is Donald Trump.”
