Can Oregon Ducks Basketball Land a 4-Star 7-Footer for 2025?

When a young, talented player of 2.13 meters comes into the high school market in today’s game and you choose an education, you have to go hard on him.

The 7-foot-1, four-star Eric Reibe is one of the top centers in the Class of 2025. He plays for The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland and also represented Germany at the European Under-18 Championship this summer.

Reibe has narrowed his next school down to 11: UConn, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Creighton, Oregon, Harvard, Stanford, West Virginia, Ohio State and Indiana. It’s always a challenge to compete with so many blue bloods on the recruiting front.

The southpaw can stretch the floor and is not afraid to let it go from deep. That is the dream of a seven-footer that you are looking for these days. Reibe is also mobile and runs well on the floor. Around the ring he has an extremely soft touch.

With N’Faly Dante joining the Houston Rockets and Nate Bittle entering his final season with the Ducks, Dana Altman must look to the future for a big man. Eric Reibe fits the bill.

Bittle had a promising start to the season, but broke his wrist and then contracted a virus. The undisclosed illness sidelined him for the rest of the season, having played just five games. The big man is ready to return to the field next fall and is expecting a big comeback.

“Coach Dana Altman has done a good job of telling me how he wants to use my skill set,” he said. “I’ve got a good connection with Louis Rowe and Coach Mike Mennenga. I’ve developed a good connection with them and good relationships. They haven’t really had a player with my size or skill set, so that’s a little bit new. But they have a five-out offense and they want to use me more as a four-man to stretch the floor and get in dribble handoffs…”

Reibe is planning more visits, including Oregon on Oct. 2. He visited Eugene on Aug. 2, so coming back for another trip is a good sign. He hasn’t set a date yet, but this feels like a must-get for the Ducks. Reibe seems to like the offensive fit.
