Suspect accused of stealing $16,000 worth of merchandise in Lululemon thefts – NBC4 Washington

Washington DC police have arrested a suspect in connection with three thefts at Lululemon, where approximately $16,000 worth of athletic apparel was stolen.

Investigators identified 23-year-old Avante Demarco Greene as a suspect, in part because the clothing he wears on his Instagram appears to be the same clothing seen in surveillance footage of the three thefts, court documents show.

Additionally, the Washington, D.C., bailiff assigned to Greene after a previous arrest said video footage showed what appeared to be his signature facial tattoo.

“I would like to point out that I have never spoken to him nor seen him in person as he is currently on unsupervised probation,” the office said.

Greene is charged with thefts from the store in the 1000 block of F Street NW on July 10 and 16, and with theft from the store in the 3200 block of M Street NW on July 12.

All Lululemons in DC have been the target of repeated organized shoplifting, usually by people working in groups of three or four.

On July 13, $8,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from a store on 14th Street. That store is closing on Sunday.

In the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia, a Lululemon was hit twice within two hours on July 1.
