A new Wizard of Oz theme park is coming!

Warner Bros. Movie World is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. It is known for its entertainment based on Warner Bros. films and characters, with a variety of attractions, shows and rides. The park is divided into themed areas, each representing different aspects of the film industry and different film genres. They range from DC Superheroes and Villains to Looney Tunes. However, later in 2024, an iconic intellectual property will make its debut at WB Movie World.

Wizard of Oz is one of the most iconic and recognizable IPs in the world. While you may have heard of the Oz theme park in North Carolina, this new themed land is something park-goers have never seen before. The land will feature memorable scenes from the classic film, including the Gale Farm in Kansas, the Haunted Forest, the Wicked Witch’s Castle, and of course, The Emerald City.

Two family-friendly Wizard of Oz coasters

Wizard of Oz is set to open sometime in 2024 and will feature two new family coasters. The first coaster is Kansas Twister. This boomerang family coaster is similar to what we saw with Good Gravy at Holiday World and Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers at Kings Island. However, Kansas Twister will be a racing family boomerang with two dueling tracks.

The spikes reach nearly 75 feet in height. Riders race forward and backward as they reach speeds of approximately 35 miles per hour. The loading station appears to be inside the Gale family barn, and the ride vehicles resemble tractors. Fans can even spot a cow on the barn roof.

The second ride to open in Wizard of Oz land is a suspended roller coaster called Flight of The Wicked Witch. This coaster is nearly 60 feet tall and reaches speeds of about 40 miles per hour. Riders load the coater in the Wicked Witch’s castle. Both of the coasters in Wizard of Oz land have lower height restrictions so that younger children can ride.

A multi-million dollar investment

This area, as Warner Bros. calls it, will focus on ensuring thrills for all ages. In addition to the two roller coasters, guests will also enjoy a walk through the Wizard’s Chamber. Here, they can come face to face with the Great and Mighty One himself. The land will be split into two halves, the “real” world of Kansas and Oz. Upon entering the land, guests will choose to take a path through Kansas to the Kansas Twister or follow the yellow brick road through Oz to Flight of the Wicked Witch.

The Wizard of Oz Warner Bros. Movie World area is sure to delight guests of all ages. Plus, the bright and colorful theme will thrill younger kids, while older kids and adults can enjoy mild thrills on one of the family-friendly roller coasters. The only unfortunate news is that it will take a flight to Australia to experience this beautiful new land.
