Summary: Camden-Wyoming loses in Senior League baseball regional

Camden-Wyoming’s stay in the Senior League Baseball East Regional came to an end on Friday night.

The Delaware state champion lost 6-0 to Willow Grove, Pa., in an elimination game in the eight-team tournament played in Bangor, ME.

Camden-Wyoming lost its season opener 6-3 to Rhode Island on Thursday.

In three all-star tournaments, Camden-Wyoming finished with a 7-4 record.

Junior competition

Lower Sussex 14, Maryland 2: The Delaware state champions earned their first win Friday at the East Regional in Orange, Connecticut.

Lower Sussex is now 1-2 with three games remaining in the pool-play portion of the tournament. The Franford-based team is scheduled to take on Rhode Island today at 8:30 a.m.

On Thursday, Lower Sussex lost 9-0 to Pennsylvania and then 10-8 to Massachusetts.

Maryland, from Easton, is 0-2.

Rowing at the university

UD team joins MAC: The University of Delaware women’s rowing team will compete in the Mid-American Conference for the first time in 2025.

The MAC will begin the 2025-26 school year with six programs competing in women’s rowing. Eastern Michigan, Toledo and UMass will be joined by new affiliates Delaware, High Point and Temple.

The Blue Hens will continue to participate in the Coastal Athletic Association in the coming year.
