Joe Biden’s Covid symptoms improve, campaign says he’ll be back on the trail next week

Meanwhile, more and more Democratic lawmakers in the House of Representatives are calling for Biden to withdraw from the race.

President Joe Biden’s COVID symptoms have improved and he is expected to return to campaigning next week, according to his doctor. Biden’s campaign said he will continue to expose Donald Trump’s agenda and advocate for his own record and vision for America.

Biden took his fourth dose of Paxlovid this morning and his symptoms, which include a loose, nonproductive cough and hoarseness, are significantly improved from yesterday, said his doctor, Kevin O’Connor. Biden’s pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain normal, and his oxygen saturation is excellent on room air.

The president’s campaign said in a statement that Biden will return to the campaign trail next week to further expose Trump’s Project 2025 agenda and advocate for his own record and vision for America.

Meanwhile, more Democratic lawmakers in the House of Representatives are calling for Biden to drop out of the race. However, Biden’s campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon, told Morning Joe that Biden is still in the race and that there are multiple paths to victory.

“We know we’ve strayed a little bit from the debate and we know the president needs to show the American people exactly what he believes in,” she said.
