Baltimore Ravens’ Derrick Henry Fires Back at Titans Reporter

Whenever a player leaves a team, especially to sign with a rival, there is always a split in the fanbase, with some fans wanting them to do well and others not. Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry finds himself in that exact situation after transferring from the rival Tennessee Titans earlier this offseason.

Recently, a debate arose among Tennessee fans over whether it’s okay to support Henry’s success in Baltimore. Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, who covers the team on his own website, fanned the flames when he not only wished Henry would perish in Baltimore, but claimed that any fan who wishes for his success isn’t a true Titans fan.

“If you support Derrick Henry so much that you want the Ravens to win even one game, you’re not the Titans fan you think you are,” Kuharsky wrote on X. “Period. Not up for debate.

“If they’re down by 4 points at the end of the game and they’re on the goal line and you want him to score, you’re not the TEN (Tennessee) fan you think you are.”

It didn’t take long for Henry to get wind of the post, and he clearly wasn’t having it. The former Offensive Player of the Year fired back with a short but scathing response.

“Paul, go find something to do,” Henry wrote.

In reality, there’s nothing wrong with fans cheering on a player after he’s left his favorite team. Ravens fans have probably felt this before, like when five-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata finished his career with the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. As long as the player’s success doesn’t come at the expense of the team, why wouldn’t you continue to support them?

Baltimore and Tennessee aren’t playing each other this season, and since Henry is one of the best players in Titans history and has never won a Super Bowl, there are bound to be plenty of fans in Nashville who want to see him get his taste of glory. Even if they don’t give a damn about the rest of the Ravens, it would put a smile on their faces if Henry were to succeed.
