Cincinnati Reds look to bounce back against Washington Nationals

The Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals will play the second game of the series against each other on Saturday night.

Nick Lodolo will handle the ball for the Reds. Lodolo has been the Reds’ best pitcher when healthy this season. He is 8-3 with a 3.33 ERA in 78 1/3 innings pitched this season.

In his last start, he took a no-hitter into the fourth inning before being struck down in the fifth. He gave up two runs in 4 2/3 innings in a 3-2 loss to the Miami Marlins.

The Nationals deal left-hander MacKenzie Gore. Gore was part of the Juan Soto trade in 2022. He is 6-8 with a 4.01 ERA in 98 2/3 innings this season.

In his last start, he gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings in a 7-0 loss to the New York Mets.

The Reds and Nationals play each other on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. (Eastern Time).
