2 injured in crash in Jackson County

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Jackson County Friday evening.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a tow truck was stopped around 11 p.m. Friday to assist a driver on State Route 93 in Franklin Township when a northbound pickup truck struck the driver of the tow truck.

The pickup truck overturned and left the road, hitting a guardrail and a traffic sign.

The driver of the tow truck was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

State Route 93 was closed for about two hours following the accident.

The crash is under investigation.
