The formation of pyrocumulus and potential plume-dominated fire behavior is possible over the next few days. If this occurs, fire could spread rapidly in any direction and the spotting distance could be over a mile. During today’s morning briefing, fire managers emphasized safety and situational awareness with critical fire forecasts for the next two days.

Firefighters have been working around the clock to protect homes and buildings while also actively trying to establish a containment line around the Lone Rock Fire, a wildfire fueled by flashing fuels, warm weather and dry fuels. Operations leaders have assigned resources to three different shifts: day shift, swing shift and night shift.
