Here you can watch fireworks in honor of Pioneer Day in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Get ready for some high-octane pyrotechnics this week as Utah cities celebrate statehood on Pioneer Day. The holiday commemorates the arrival of Latter-day Saint pioneers in the Salt Lake Valley in 1847, and celebrations often include parades, games and fireworks.

Check out this list to find the nearest fireworks display. (This list is not exhaustive and details may change; visit the attached links to verify.)

Saturday July 20

  • American fork: American Fork continues its annual tradition of Pioneer Day fireworks. The pyrotechnic spectacle will cap off the city’s Steel Days festivities and will launch from Art Dye Park at 10 p.m. While the fireworks will be visible throughout the city, spectators in the park will have synchronized music to accompany the show.
  • Plentiful: Bountiful has the second largest Pioneer Day parade in the state, starting at 9 a.m. Head to Mueller Park Junior High for a fireworks show at 10 p.m.
  • Maple: Come to Mapleton for dozens of activities and stay until dark for a synchronized fireworks extravaganza. Fireworks are launched from Ira Allan Sports Park following a live performance by the Salamanders.
  • Mona: Mona has a full day of activities for Pioneer Day, including a talent show, watermelon eating contest and pioneer dancing. Fireworks are at 10pm, with seating at school and in the park.
  • Monticello: It’s a two-day pioneer celebration at Monticello, but the fireworks won’t light up the sky above the sports fields until sunset on Saturday.
  • Tremonton: Tremonton has a busy few days leading up to an epic fireworks show. Come to the park to see the city light up the sky at 10pm

Wednesday July 24

  • Beaver: Beaver goes all out for the state holiday, closing out with fireworks at Tushar 4-Plex at 9:45 p.m.
  • Cedar City: Cedar City — and the Osmond family — are gearing up for an epic party at Southern Utah University’s Eccles Coliseum. Doors open at 7 p.m., and there will be hours of musical entertainment until the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.
  • Charleston, Wasatch County: Where in Heber Valley can you celebrate Pioneer Day? Head to the small town of Charleston, population 436. Charleston Park is the place to watch breathtaking fireworks at sunset.
  • Hurricane: Hurricane brings the party to Sand Hollow State Park for an epic fireworks display. Enter the park starting at 4pm, listen to live music and visit the food stands. The fireworks go off at sunset.
  • Kanab: Get ready for fireworks on the water at Jackson Flat Reservoir. The party starts at 4:00 p.m., but the fireworks don’t start until sunset.
  • Layton: No fireworks in Layton, but there will be a full day of activities and an electric light parade. The parade starts at 10:30pm at Constitution Circle and includes a DJ, dancing, blacklights and food.
  • Logan: There’s a busy schedule for Logan’s Pioneer Day and fireworks will cap it off at 10pm in Willow Park
  • Ogden: Ogden celebrates the state’s first settlers with its annual Pioneer Days rodeo. Gates open at Ogden Pioneer Stadium at 5:30 p.m., and a drone show caps off the evening. Can’t make it to the Pioneer Day show? Don’t worry: there’s a rodeo and drone show every night from July 19-24.
  • Orem: Fireworks are back at University Mall. Visitors can reserve a spot with chairs and blankets starting at 4 p.m., and live entertainment begins at 5 p.m. The big fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m.
  • Salt lake city: Nobody goes bigger than Salt Lake City for Pioneer Day. The Days of ’47 parade kicks off at 9 a.m., and activities continue throughout the day in Liberty Park. The city caps off the festivities with a drone show at 10 p.m.
  • Spanish fork: Enjoy the fireworks that will be set off from the sports park around 22:00. Synchronized music will be played on field 8.
  • Washington: There will be a full day of activities in Washington, followed by fireworks at 10pm in Veterans Park.

Saturday July 27

  • Viewpoint: The fireworks will go off at 10pm in the Keller Arena, immediately after the demolition derby.
  • Kamas: Fiesta Days in Kamas offers a weekend of fun and after the Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Association rodeo there will be fireworks at 7:30 p.m. The rodeo will also feature a Chris Peterson concert.
