New salon and wellness spa opens on Route 1

A new full-service luxury salon and wellness spa has opened on Route 1 in Washington, DC’s Woodridge neighborhood, just south of Mount Rainier.

Located at 2308 Rhode Island Ave. NE, next to Zeke’s Coffee roastery (which will open its expanded café next month), Studio Chique offers hair care, including styling, color and straightening, as well as wellness services like body sculpting and waxing, hydrotherapy and colonics, and more.

They also offer a Japanese head spa, where massages and serums promote blood circulation, relieve stress, and improve scalp and hair health.

The salon, formerly located on Georgia Avenue, had a soft launch on July 15 and plans a grand opening soon. Owner Ngina Thomas designed the new space, which aims to serve a diverse mix of clients from the neighborhood and the greater DC area.

Studio Chique is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 8pm, on Saturdays from 7am to 7pm and on Sundays from 12pm to 7pm.
