Was Barron Trump at the RNC in Milwaukee?

Donald Trump’s children took their customary places next to their father on Thursday night at the Republican National Convention, where he re-accepted his party’s nomination for president.

As balloons fell from the ceiling of the Fiserv Forum in a celebratory moment for the family, Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka and Tiffany were all onstage. Trump’s wife, Melania, and grandchildren were also there.

But not all of Trump’s children came to Milwaukee for the convention.

Barron Trump was missing.

Donald Trump and Melania’s youngest son was absent from the joyous moment.

Why Wasn’t Barron Trump at the RNC?

Barron was asked to attend the convention as a delegate from Florida, but Melania released a statement in May indicating he would not attend due to prior commitments, USA Today reported.

“While Barron is honored to have been selected as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he will unfortunately be unable to run due to prior commitments,” the statement said.

Trump said of Barron Trump in a May interview with Telemundo 51 Miami, “He’s pretty young, I have to say.” He added that if his son wants to run for Congress, “I’m all for it.”

Barron Trump is 18 years old.

Barron Trump graduated from high school in Florida on May 17. Donald Trump was in the midst of his hush-money trial, a case in which he was convicted of 34 felonies for falsifying corporate records ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

At Trump’s request, the trial was halted on the day of Barron’s graduation so he could attend.
