CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue crews, as well as police, were dispatched to the Morning Star Condominium complex on Loudon Road Saturday morning for a fire.

Capital Region Fire Dispatch reported alarms from the complex just before 10:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found smoke in the area and later reported it was coming from the third floor of 185 Loudon Road, a building in the back of the complex. Firefighters called for a working fire alarm, which sent more firefighters and first responders to the scene. Firefighters from Hooksett and Loudon were also requested.

Firefighters rescued several tenants from balconies and tenants were evacuated from the second and third floors, according to scanner chatter. Just after 11 a.m., a battalion chief told dispatch that the fire was out and everyone had been evacuated from the building.

Other firefighters, including Boscawen, Manchester, Pembroke and Penacook Rescue, were called to the city around 11:15 a.m. to cover the station. About 10 minutes later, the chief requested that fire prevention and a property manager be on scene and said that police had cordoned off the apartment. The police dispatcher noted that the apartment where most of the fire was located had been visited by police in the past, but did not specify why.

Around noon, the chief began releasing emergency services and retained some Concord firefighters to complete cleanup efforts.
