Davante Adams wants Tom Brady at the Raiders

Davante Adams didn’t even let Shannon Sharpe finish the question: “Absolutely,” he wants Tom Brady on the Las Vegas Raiders.

Brady has floated the possibility of a comeback several times, but he seems firmly entrenched in his upcoming role on Fox’s No. 1 NFL team alongside Kevin Burkhardt. That doesn’t mean Adams and Sharpe can’t argue about it on the final Club Shay Shay podcast, but that doesn’t seem realistic — at least not right now.

This is the same Adams who said he gave his OK to benching Jimmy Garoppolo during Netflix’s Recipient series. Not that Brady is Garoppolo, but the star wide receiver does have some appeal in Sin City, and it’s fair to say that position hasn’t been solidified for Las Vegas yet.

As a future part-owner of the franchise, Brady would be the best quarterback the team has, even if he’s more than a year away from retirement. That’s not meant as an insult to Aidan O’Connell or Gardner Minshew; it’s simply the truth. And every team — except a select few — in the NFL would likely try to lure the future Hall of Famer out of retirement if given the chance.

And don’t get Adams started on his age; he couldn’t care less whether Brady is 58 or 60.

“Look, Tom, I know how I feel about him, man,” Adams said. “And the other part of it is I think I’d be the first person to play with Tom and Aaron (Rodgers), so that would be pretty cool. I mean, he’s getting older, but he’s still got to be a better pitcher than half the guys in the league.”

So, it’s fair to say that Adams wants to play with Brady. While it probably wouldn’t go against all odds, it seems like he’d push for it given the opportunities. But then again, Brady seems entrenched in his role on Fox, as many believe his ability to articulate and dissect plays set took him apart in the broadcast booth, just like he did on the field.

The most realistic possibility is that Adams will be reunited with Rodgers, as the sports media is trying to make that happen. And Adams said that if he were to be reunited with anyone, it would be his former quarterback in Green Bay, but based on his comments to Sharpe, he feels pretty good about his time with the Raiders.

Still, that didn’t stop him from advocating for Brady to join the Raiders.

The likely opportunity for that right now is an NFL game on Fox.
