2 RV Parks in Southern Utah, Some of the 10 Best Places to Camp in America

ST. GEORGE — Two southern Utah campgrounds that offer pristine views of the Milky Way and sit on the edge of a major national park have been named the best places to camp in America for 2024.

The annual contest, presented by the Dyrt app and State Farm, named Dark Sky RV Park and Campground in Kanab the No. 3 RV Park and Campground and Ruby’s Inn RV Park and Campground in Bryce Canyon City the No. 10 RV Park and Campground in the United States. These app users’ favorite locations are based on ratings and reviews from people who travel in recreational vehicles in the Dyrt community of campers.

Dyrt app CEO Kevin Long told St. George News that interest in RV camping is growing year over year. To find the best RV parks and resorts in America, Dyrt partnered with State Farm to identify unique locations like Dark Sky Sanctuaries, national park villages, sprawling resorts and vineyards.

“We compile this list based on our millions of user reviews and the ratings of campers across the United States,” Long said, adding that the criteria they look at include scenic beauty, amenities, proximity to destinations and cleanliness. “And this year, of the top 10 list, there were actually two campgrounds in Utah, and it’s the only state in the country with two locations that made the top 10 list.”
