West Rutland man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after crash

WEST RUTLAND — Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland barracks have arrested a Pennsylvania man on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on Whipple Hollow Road.

The incident occurred on July 19 at around 5 p.m., when authorities were alerted to the crash.

Officers identified the driver as Alexander Dubas, 25, of S. Abbington Township, PA.

According to the police report, Dubas showed several signs of lack of motivation at the scene.

After an initial screening he was arrested.

At the state police barracks, Dubas was examined by a drug recognition expert and later taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center for a blood sample.

Dubas has been released pending criminal charges. The results of the blood test will be analyzed.

Vermont State Police have not released any further details about the accident at this time.
