East Providence man faces multiple charges after barracks investigation

PROVIDENCE — Officers arrested a 39-year-old East Providence man after a search of the barracks led them to his residence.

At 6:10 p.m., Charles King of 148 Sutton Avenue was arrested on suspicion of, among other things, failing to stop at an accident resulting in damage to a vehicle, obstructing a police officer in the performance of his duties and driving on a suspended/revoked/cancelled license – Category 4 offense.

King was interrogated at Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned before a justice of the peace, and then transferred to the Men’s Intake Center of the Adult Correctional Institution.

In a separate incident, at 10:20 p.m., Kevin Greenwood, 23, of 939 Branch Avenue, Apt #2, Providence, was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle – first offense.

The arrest occurred following a motor vehicle stop on Whipple Street in Providence.

Greenwood was taken to Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and held there overnight.

He is expected to appear in court at his morning arraignment as a probation violator.

Additionally, Tyler Deburgo, 23, of 22 Rosewood Street, Pawtucket, was arrested early this morning at 2:50 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol (BAC unknown), first offense and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

This arrest occurred following a motor vehicle stop on Garden Street in Pawtucket.

Deburgo was taken to Lincoln Woods Barracks, charged and turned over to a responsible adult.

He will appear before the Sixth Division Court in the future.
