Wargo leaves Law360 for further education

Abby WargoA New York journalist who covers wage and hour law for Law360 is leaving to attend college.

They will pursue a master’s degree in English literature at the University of Tennessee.

Wargo previously worked in South Dakota, reporting for both the Rapid City Journal and the Pierre Capital Journal. In South Dakota, she covered the COVID-19 pandemic, the South Dakota state legislature and Governor Kristi Noem, the trial and attempted impeachment of Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg, multiple school districts, tribal issues, environmental issues, marijuana legalization and more.

They graduated magna cum laude from Washington College in Maryland in May 2020. While in college, they served as editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, The Elm, for two years.

Chris Roush was dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. He previously was the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor of business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business journalism textbook “Show Me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” and “Thinking Things Over,” a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
