The 2024 Prep Baseball Future Games kick off with a training day at LakePoint in Emerson, GA on Wednesday, July 24. The event will showcase every area of Prep Baseball, featuring the top uncommitted players in their class of 2026. This event has become a “must see” for college coaches as they work to develop the rising junior class.

2024 will have a new look for the Future Games. With new recruiting rules limiting contact with prospects before August 1 of their junior year, there was an expectation that some areas would see more top prospects uncommitted. That said, Team North Carolina will make its debut in 2024. For the past five years, North Carolina and South Carolina have combined to form a Future Games team, Team Carolina. Prior to that, North Carolina players played for a year with Virginia and Maryland as part of Team Mid-Atlantic. This year, Team North Carolina will feature approximately 24 uncommitted 2026 graduates, all from North Carolina.

Team North Carolina Schedule:
Wednesday July 24 – 4:30 PM – Training day with Team VA and Team MD
Thursday, July 25 – 7:00 PM – Game vs. Team South Carolina
Friday July 26 – 12:30pm – Game vs Maryland
Saturday July 27 – 8:30am – Live BP on the field followed by game against Team Virginia

The Future Games will be played entirely at the LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA on courts 9, 10, 11 and 12.

Team North Carolina Preview: Corner Infielders

Tanner Pope 1B / Left-Handed / Garner High, NC / 2026

A potential dual prospect likely entered 2024 as a pitcher first, but the bat has taken a huge step forward. The power potential is a difference-maker. During his workout at the South Charlotte Panthers Scout Day, he stormed the scoreboard at Davidson with a maximum bat distance of 383′. Athletic around the bag, Pope has nimble feet and soft hands.

Maximus wears 1B / OF / Palisades, NC / 2026

A young face and a strong frame are matched with a nice left-handed swing. Again a big body with athleticism and power potential, Wearing will likely be a potential “high riser” as he lines up high-end at-bats against the high-end arms that will be at the 2024 Future Games.
