Last day of the Porter Peach Festival

PORTER, Okla. — Saturday was the final day of the Porter Peach Festival, and it was the last chance to sample all sorts of peach flavors.
People from all over the state brought peaches and fair food.

People like Will Moyano. Moyano says a peachy time was worth the ride.

“It’s fun to see small towns grow out of Oklahoma City because you see how united the community is.”

It’s not all peach pie and funnel cakes. There are plenty of vendors and attractions, but Moyano says the Porter peaches were the priority.
“I’m gonna get some peaches, you know, some peach ice cream, ’cause you can’t come here without eating that.”

2 News drove to Livesay Orchards and spoke with Kyle Livesay, who is a contributor to the peach festival, and he told 2 News about the importance of a good harvest.
“It’s really important. I don’t think anyone comes to the peach festival asking where the peaches are.”

Livesay tells 2 News that preparations for the event take a whole year, with at least 80 people working during the festival.

Moyano says it’s a time for everyone to enjoy.
