Fighter scores viral knockout after 38-punch combo

The UFC’s Apex event on Saturday, July 20, wasn’t packed with big names, but if you missed it, you likely missed one of the greatest one-minute fights in MMA history.

Hyder Amil opened the main card by scoring a first-round knockout victory over Jeong Yeong Lee, with one of the most insane series of unanswered punches you will ever see.

For this achievement he received one of the Achievement of the Night bonuses.

Look at Amil’s crazy finish below.

Amil’s finish generated a lot of reaction in the UFC community. USI’s Matthew Holt credited Amil with a 38-punch combo. That specific volume may have been a bit of an exaggeration, but it was close if not exact.

The UFC’s official X account noted the finish.

Maybe there’s something to that “38.” Combat Buzz also hinted at it, calling Amil’s winning sequence “one of the wildest attacks ever.”

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping called it a “real fight.”

MMA Mania’s Alex Behunin pleaded with the UFC to keep Amil out of the Apex going forward.

Amil’s win brought his record to a perfect 10-0. He competed with Bellator, LFA and the Dana White Contender Series before making his UFC debut in February when he stopped Fernie Garcia.

Saturday’s win over Lee may be the last time we see Amil at the UFC Apex. He’s seemingly established himself as a guaranteed all-action fighter in every fight.

During the press conference after the match, Amil said how much he appreciates martial arts and how much he enjoys fighting.

Sportskeeda’s Jake Foley posted the clip from the media session.

After a performance like Amil’s on Saturday, the first thing many might wonder is who he should fight next. Amil probably isn’t quite ready for a ranked opponent, but matching him up with another all-action fighter would be great for his brand and fans.

Look no further than a man who shared the main card with him on Saturday. Steve Garcia scored a first-round TKO victory over SeungWoo Choi. Garcia’s KO victory was his fourth in a row, the longest such streak in the UFC.

Garcia also received a performance bonus for his KO.

An Amil vs. Garcia fight would definitely be an exciting fight. I know there will only be 10 fights at Noche UFC, but Amil vs. Garcia would get things started off nicely.
