Who is Kate Faasse? UNC Soccer Star Makes Social Media Go Wild With Her Stunning Looks And Could Give Olivia Dunne Some Serious Competition

Olivia Dunne has become a social media sensation since joining TikTok in 2020, amassing 13.2 million followers across the platform and Instagram. Her popularity has quickly made her one of the most valuable college athletes due to lucrative NIL deals.

The 21-year-old LSU gymnast, who is currently the second-highest NIL earner at $3.9 million, just behind Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders at $4.8 million, could soon be surpassed by a certain University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill football player: Kate Faasse. According to Barstool Sports, Faasse’s name went viral on X after an account called “College Cuties” shared revealing photos from her Instagram account.

Newcomer to the market

The post has been viewed nearly 3 million times since it was shared on July 10. Faasse, a rising junior at UNC, plays as a midfielder or forward for the Tar Heels, according to the team’s official website.

She scored two goals and added three assists in 23 games during the 2023 season, playing a total of 716 minutes. In 2022, the Phoenix, Arizona native scored and added two goals each in 17 games as a freshman.

Before attending college, Faasse scored 31 goals and had 12 assists in high school, despite missing her third season due to injury.

According to UNC’s website, besides soccer, she also enjoys painting in her spare time.

Faasse comes from a family of top athletes. Her mother was a track and field athlete at university and her grandfather was a professional baseball player.

Faasse was born in 2004, making her just a year younger than Dunne, who returns to LSU this fall for her fifth year on the Tigers’ gymnastics team.

Give thin competition

As long as Dunne remains in college, it seems unlikely that anyone, including Faasse, will dethrone her in terms of NIL value. Faasse is currently not listed in On3’s NIL 100.

Dunne is the only woman in the top 10 of the list, followed by Flau’jae Johnson at number 12, with a rating of $1.2 million (zero).

Dunne also has her relationship with MLB All-Star Paul Skenes to draw on, adding to her popularity. Skenes, who continues to shine for the Pittsburgh Pirates, made his red carpet debut with Dunne earlier this week.

In addition to her athletic achievements, Dunne has built a modeling career through a NIL deal with Sports Illustrated.

She is also sponsored by several brands including American Eagle, Nautica, Vuori and the energy drink Accelerator Active Energy, for which she appeared in a commercial alongside Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Despite having no fewer than 21,600 followers on Instagram and TikTok, Faasse still lags far behind Dunne in terms of popularity.

However, once she completes her senior year in Baton Rouge, Faasse’s popularity could potentially skyrocket in a similar way to the gymnast’s. Only time will tell how this will develop.
