Lil Wayne concert at North Dakota State Fair postponed due to flight disruptions – InForum

MINOT — Rapper Lil Wayne’s performance at the North Dakota State Fair has been postponed due to flight disruptions affecting airlines worldwide.

Lil Wayne was originally scheduled to perform on Saturday, July 20. That performance was rescheduled for Wednesday, July 24 at 8 p.m.

In addition, the Sawyer Brown concert, also scheduled for Wednesday, will now take place at 2 p.m.

“We are grateful to (Lil Wayne’s) team for working diligently to ensure his fans can still enjoy an incredible show,” North Dakota State Fair General Manager Craig Rudland said in a press release. “We also appreciate Sawyer Brown for agreeing to enhance their performance, allowing the Fair to continue to deliver for all fans.”

Gates for Sawyer Brown will open at 1 p.m., while gates for Lil Wayne will open at 6:30 p.m., according to the press release. Tickets for Lil Wayne’s scheduled performance on Saturday remain valid.

From Thursday you can get your tickets that have not been scanned back.

“We work hard to maintain the high-quality state fair that North Dakotans know and love,” Rudland said.

Flight delays were just one of the casualties of a global technical outage that occurred on Friday, July 19. The outages appeared to be caused by a software update for Crowdstrike, an international cybersecurity platform.

It’s not the first time in recent memory that a Lil Wayne concert in North Dakota has been postponed. The rapper’s 2023 performance at Fargo’s Scheels Arena was moved from April to May of that year due to a snowstorm.

The rest of the fair’s concert series includes Turnpike Troubadors on Sunday, Machine Gun Kelly on Thursday, Thomas Rhett on Friday and Lainey Wilson on Saturday.

Our newsroom occasionally reports on stories under the name “staff.” Often, the name “staff” is used when rewriting basic news stories that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and require little or no reporting. Sometimes this name is used when a news story has multiple authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from several sources. If outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
