Nebraska Lands On3 Top 200 DL Kade Pietrzak

Nebraska Football lands North Dakota’s best player with commitment from 4-star DL Kade Pietrzak

The Huskers have added a key piece to their 2025 recruiting class with the 6-foot-1, 230-pound defenseman Quay Pietrzak. The four-star On3 defensive lineman from West Fargo (ND) Sheyenne, chose Nebraska over Oklahoma, Kansas State and Wisconsin. Pietrzak has visited Nebraska three times this year since January.

Oklahoma has been the trending team for Pietrzak since mid-June, with Nebraska a distant second. The Nebraska staff under Matt Rhule and Tony White were persuasive in their approach to bringing Pietrzak to Lincoln.

Pietrzak was in Lincoln to see the beginning of the Matt Rhule era and left Lincoln with an offer. There was a lot of interest in Pietrzak after the offer from Kansas State, which really got the ball rolling. After Nebraska’s offer, schools like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, Oklahoma and others all followed.

Originally thought to be an offensive line recruit, Pietrzak has emerged as one of Nebraska’s top defensive line/end targets in the 2025 class. From the edge, Pietrzak shows he can work against an offensive tackle, has a nice set of individual pass-rush moves and a motor to get after the quarterback.

Pietrzak is now the third defensive lineman in the 2025 class for Nebraska. He joins defensive tackle Tyson Terry from Omaha (Neb.) North and defensive tackle/end Malcolm Simpson from Hitchcock (Texas). Before Pietrzak committed to Nebraska, Simpson was Nebraska’s highest-rated player in the class of 2025.

The Huskers are still in a good position to add two more defensive targets in the coming weeks. Omaha (Neb.) Westside linebacker Christian Jones plans to make his announcement in September. Gilbert (Iowa) linebacker Will Hawthorne The decision rests with Nebraska and Iowa State and could be made before the end of July.

Pietrzak is the 17e commitment in the 2025 recruiting class for Nebraska. He is a four-star recruit according to the On3 Industry Ranking and is the No. 1 player in North Dakota in the 2025 class.
