Tenali Veterinarian Dies in Oklahoma Car Crash

VIJAYAWADA: A 25-year-old female veterinarian from Tenali in Guntur district died in a road accident in Oklahoma State, USA. The deceased was identified as Jetti Harika, who had gone to the US to pursue an MS degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Harika was from Anna Battinavari Veedhi in Ithanagar in Tenali of Guntur district. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Harika died and four others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Logan County.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. Saturday night near Highway 74 and West Triplett Road, southwest of Guthrie. Harika was pronounced dead at the scene. Bad weather conditions led to the accident.

Harika’s father, J Srinivasa Rao, is an employee in the endowment department. Harika went to the US 18 months ago to pursue a master’s degree in veterinary science. Srinivasa Rao’s family and Nagamani urged Minister Lokesh to help the family get their daughter’s body airlifted to India.

Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar has been working with the NRIs in the US to bring Harika’s body back to Tenali.
