Trump Beats Biden — And It’s Not Even Election Day Yet! (Up Against The Wall)

This is a call for your input.

So Trump, be proud; you are justified! Stand tall. Act like a president.

But damn. I had my column written all the way through Sunday morning and then Biden announced he wasn’t running for re-election, so now I have to rewrite the whole thing….

So Biden is gone. (Did anyone tell Biden?) Helen says they’ll tell him when he wakes up from his nap.

Let’s face it, since it’s Biden time… is it possible, though not proven, that all his White House handlers had to do was a.) Tell Biden he’d decided not to run for re-election the day before and the guy wouldn’t even know it, or b.) Have him sign the letter (aka Colonial Potter-style on MASH) they wrote saying he wouldn’t run again? Would he even know the difference?

Many Americans (my friends; the few I have) are wondering: how does this work? Well, since the Democrats have decided to invalidate their own election (the primaries and caucuses in which Biden was selected.) (Talking point: Democrats do not believe in democracy, as evidenced by their bullying of Biden not to run for re-election.) Now the process is going back to how it used to be in the “old days” of conventions, where party insiders chose the nominee instead of the voters.

Note that the party elites had to push Biden to step down before the convention, because if they had gone to the convention, the delegates would have been obligated to vote for the candidate who won their state, just as I was obligated to vote for Trump – and gladly did. Biden would have won on the first ballot and that would have been over. (The Republicans held a voice vote because Trump was 100% behind.)

Much like Mike Johnson becoming Speaker of the House, this is not going to go according to plan. Am I the only one speculating that the Dems’ new nominee will be an outsider — not Harris and not Newsom? Why? Because Harris and Newsom have likely been calling around all week trying to get delegates to pledge to each of them, and Harris’ delegates will not vote for Newsom, and Newsom’s will not vote for Harris, so this could end in a stalemate, just like the vote on Speaker of the House.

While the first round of voting is one person, one vote, the second round and then the superdelegates (think of them as the politburo) get to vote. That means the superdelegates get to decide, not your average citizen democrats. There could be dozens of rounds of voting, as has happened in past conventions, or there could be just a few if the top two candidates get together and mutually agree on an outsider candidate in advance. These people aren’t stupid. They know Harris is unpopular. (Honestly, my own opinion is that she’s dumber than a box of bricks.) It won’t be Obama 2.0, because at least she’s smart enough not to want it to be. Does anyone think Biden actually knows he endorsed Harris?

They may also want to choose a candidate who is not beholden to their own disastrous policies… someone who has no legislative background and no voting record that can be criticized. And don’t be surprised if insiders try to force Biden out of office early, making Harris president, giving her an advantage over Newsome and other candidates, and giving her the power and money of the presidency to use in her fight for the nomination or in the November election if she is the nominee. That he did not resign in the letter, but rather indicated that he intends to serve out his presidency, is telling, though.

I want to hear it from Biden himself.

Remember Biden and Harris brought us – Nearly 20% inflation = 20% reduction in income. That’s the best way to describe inflation to people. Yes you buy less but more importantly it’s the same as a 20% reduction in wages. And then there’s the border crisis, the Dems are essentially stealing tax dollars to pay for food, hotel rooms, transportation for illegals, etc.

Changing the CEO but continuing with the same disastrous policies will not change anything. A vote for candidate X is a vote for the same policies that have given us two wars, high prices, the green new theft, high oil prices, unaffordable housing, higher rents and all the other problems this country has. They caused it all, and changing candidates will not change their policies.

Well, now it’s time to say goodbye to Grandpa Joe. We’ll probably never see or hear from him again, although he has promised to address the nation soon. Don’t let the Oval Office door hit you on the ass on your way out, buddy. PS By the time this column is published, things may have changed again!
