OCA All-State Performance | Kingfisher Times & Free Press

Kingfisher County athletes and coaches were among those competing in the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State games last week in the Tulsa area. On Wednesday, Kingfisher’s Peyton Walker represented the Large West in the girls basketball games in Sapulpa. Walker (pictured above, 43) scored six points in the Large West’s 62-45 loss to the Large East. She is pictured with her KHS coaches, left to right, Taylor Young, Mallory Kusik and Morgan Dutton. Lomega’s Abby Swart was selected to the Small West team but was unable to compete due to an injury. Hennessey’s Jael Torres (right, 12) played for the Small West in the boys games on Thursday in Sapulpa. He scored two points in his team’s 84-83 loss to the Small East. KHS had three wrestlers and a coach compete in wrestling activities Wednesday in Broken Arrow. Pictured below from left to right are Gant Browning, Steven Wilson, Damien Haynes, Jace Johnson, and Jacob Farrell. Browning wrestled at 132 pounds, Johnson at 144, and Haynes at 150 for the Small West. All three were defeated in their matches. Wilson coached the Small West, which lost to the Small East 34-18.
