Kamala Harris gains momentum against Donald Trump in key US swing states

Recent polls now surprisingly show Kamala Harris neck-and-neck with Donald Trump in several key swing states.

These states are crucial for the upcoming elections. Initially, Joe Biden was predicted to lose them, but he withdrew from the race.

The new data suggests it will be a much closer contest, with Harris gaining significant ground.

The latest poll, conducted by Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research for Fox News from July 22-24, shows Harris and Trump tied at 49% in both Michigan and Pennsylvania.

In Minnesota, Harris holds a six-point lead, with 52% to Trump’s 46%. Meanwhile, Wisconsin remains a nail-biter, with Trump holding a slight one-point lead, with a 50% lead to Harris’s 49%.

Harris’s rise in these states is particularly notable because she managed to close the gap that Trump had allowed to grow before Biden withdrew from the race.

This shift suggests that the electorate still plays an important role and that both candidates are working hard to secure their positions.

The impact of third-party candidates

The poll results also took into account the potential influence of third-party candidates, including independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. When these additional candidates are included, Harris’ lead narrows slightly in some areas.

In Pennsylvania, Harris holds a two-point lead over Trump, 45% to 43%. In Michigan, Trump holds a two-point lead over Harris, 45% to 43%, while Wisconsin is evenly split at 46%. In Minnesota, Harris maintains a strong lead, 47% to Trump’s 41%.

Critical conditions for victory

The importance of these states cannot be overemphasized.

Pennsylvania in particular is seen by Harris as an absolute must-win if she hopes to secure a victory over Trump.

Michigan and Wisconsin are also key battlegrounds that could determine the outcome of the election. Losing Minnesota, usually a reliably blue state, would be a major blow to Democrats and could signal a broader trend toward a potential landslide defeat.

The race is shaping up to be one of the most competitive and unpredictable in recent history, with both candidates fighting hard for every vote. As the election approaches, all eyes will be on these battleground states to see how the final weeks of the campaign unfold.
